I have met my rep. He took the letter etc but nothing happens after that. Starting a new campaign to the USCIS director doesn't dilute the issue, rather it makes our case stronger, this way we are telling them we are really really troubled...
Please don't dilute the admin fix effort by starting another letter campaign.
IV just finished a letter campaign in which one of the items were 3 yr EAD/AP. Why do we need another letter campaign? There is still lot of work going on related to the Admin fixes, please do work with your state chapters to setup meetings with lawmakers to seek their support for the Admin fix effort.

Took around 10 weeks. MTR sent on 11/28/08, Letter recd on 02/6/09 at my attorney's office.

We need more attention. Economy and all., they are going to be there, but I am sure US doesnt want to loose by delaying it. These are our years where we can contribute. They dont want to send some of us back and invite us at 55-60 years as dependents on our citizen children.

Mats is on the money for sure. A 350D or a D70s (or D50) with a kit lens will make your millenia.
I bought a 20D as a backup, knock about camera for Africa. It's a good wee beast. But not in your budget range. But it's the obvious next step.
We can hardly wait for the ** which is ##MP and ##fps.

I read somewhere that if you can provide a letter from the company stating that you are on an extended maternity leave and also that company has no problems with that, you maintain your status even though you are not getting paid.

If the PWD is for a PERM application, there is no way to avoid using the DOL system. (NOTE: for H-1 PWD the online DOL system is NOT required).
There is no provision for expediting PWD's through the DOL online system. However, in typically unfair DOL fashion, it seems that PWD requests submitted in mid February are being approved in about 30 days or less while many submitted earlier are still languishing. So, submitting a second PWD request now might get you a PWD sooner than waiting for one submitted in January.
Another issue of concern about the new PWD system is that it has been generating wildly arbitrary determinations some of which reference SOC codes and experience levels different from those on the actual PWD request.
That's useful to know thought it was just mine that was taking forever. My PWD request was submitted January 27th. 9 weeks later still waiting. Should I just wait in the hope that my company's lawyer is keeping track and knows to submit another PWD request?

Just add this word document, and send a email to your work email address with the word document attached. when you see this email at work, just print 2 copies of the attachment, thats all you have to do.

Hello All,
Are there any IV Members out there who are current this month (May 2011) and still waiting for their approval email / notification / GC?
I am guessing that everyone who is current this month is already approved by now and his/her visa number (along with dependents visa) is already accounted for by USCIS.

My sister in law will come to US using H4 visa, the problem is the health insurance does not want to cover her pregnancy since the pregnancy is already 6 months.
Any idea how to get insurance for her ?

This exact same thing happened to my package sent via USPS, I sent overnight and it still took 2 days to finally get in a person's hand, it was still on time to not have any negative consequences, but lesson learned, don't rely on USPS/UPS and don't wait till end, atleast have 5 days for mail delievery. I had nasty chat with my attorney to send my papers before he was planning to send, I am even planning to report to 'statewide bar association'. Lawyers knows ( or must know ) the importance of timely filling and its effect on families and their lives.
Hope things go fine and they do accept the application.

Thanks for your responses. The hospital staff told us it would take 60-90 days to get the SSN. I am stuck until that arrives because only then can I apply for the passport. Any way to get around it?

Master's and higher, outside US has to be in the STEM fields to qualify.
Good. That means if you have STEM Masters and 3 years US experience then at the time SKIL comes to effect you can file 485 without waiting for PD if 140 was already approved by then. OR can file concurrently.

Hello Friends,
I have found myself in a very wierd situation here, and i need some urgent help. My problem is follows:
I am currently working for a company and i am on my OPT, which will expire in January 2010. The company which i am working for now is a big multinational company, and is sponsoring my H1 petitiion on April 1 2009 this time. As i will be falling in the 20,000 quota, my company lawyers said that they dont have that many applications coming in like every year, so the chances of me getting my H1 is 100 percent.
Now the tragic thing in this happy story is the fact that i feel i am going to get laid off in the next month. The immigration department of our company is veru big so my manager does not know the trouble which i can land into if i have an approved H1 and i am laid off.
Here are my questiions:
1: Since my H1 will become effecive october 1 2009, can i cancel my approved petitiion before that (if i am laid off), and then continue on my existing OPT which will end in February 2010. This way i feel i have more chance to find a job, as i will get some time to do so.
2: Is it safe enough to tell the company lawyer right now to not file the petitiion, as in that case there will not be a problem of approval/denial of my petition, and i will continue on my existing OPT, and ask for a 17 months OPT extention afterwards?
3: Relating to question 1, if i was laid off before october 1, can i switch back to my OPT, since i would have not used my H1 at all since i was laid off.
Any answers would really be appreciated as i am really approaching the April 1 mark of filing the H1

Agreed.. But again something has to trigger the movement. Eg. I can understand that happening, if you file AC21 and you receive RFE. Or Your GC filing employer revoking your I 140 and you receive I-485 Denial letter etc.
