Its kinda sad, but I can relate with both the sides here. For folks who are stuck in the stupid AAP (NameCheck, Security Clearance) - the life is harsh - especially if you just came for a quick trip. I am dealing with it for the last 5.5 months and it hasn't been easy. Thankfully, we have a workaround.
But yes, I do agree that missing a lifetime wedding of a sibling because you will get stuck for a few months is perhaps taking it too far. Now, I know folks who have/are doing this and they have valid reasons. We all have our own reasons and to each his /her own.
If you can get Advance Parole then travel with it. If you cannot, then just be prepared for the long haul and prepare your company/client - lawyer and ensure there is a support system that will see through your obligations in States. US Govt. will eventually clear the Visa - the sibling may not necessarily marry again! :) Make your choice! Good Luck and do the right thing for you!!!

I did get the cashed checks printouts and also changed the address in USCIS couple days back. The questions are:
- Assuming that USCIS has already sent the reciepts/EAD to my previous address and I have a redirection at USPost office to my new address.
Will they be redirected to my new address? Or is there is a policy on USCIS reciept mails that the mails from USCIS can't be redirected to a new address but need to be returned back unless the new address is updated in USCIS?

USPS does not forward USCIS mail as the USCIS requests it's correspondence not to be forwarded.
If you have changed the address using the RNs (by calling USCIS and not by filing AR11) and if the RNs have not been delivered to you yet, I guess they might have gone back to the USCIS and will be redelivered to the new address.

i had been to SBA and the free seminars for entrepreneurs conducted by them. They hold one-one meetings and try to know what you exactly want to do and tell you how to proceed. It is an goverment organization with volunteers who are reteired high ranking officers from different field. They gave me brochures and booklets and told me to write a business plan. Anyway, you can google SBA and find the nearest local office and ask them for a appointment.

Recently while returning, at the POE, I was told that AP is for emergency travel only and was asked the reason for travel. Also he wanted to see our tickets for the onward journey, to make sure that we were not gone for too long.

My wife is working as an independent contractor(1099-misc) on an EAD. I am also on EAD on W2(full time employment).
We file our taxes jointly and hence instead of making advance payments/estimated tax payments quarterly, cant I just have my company withhold more money from my paycheck every month?
That would make things so much more easier..

It not a computer glitch for sure. As the explanation goes like this:
we transferred this case I140 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER to our LINCOLN, NE location for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action.
Even My I-140 status changed from approved to Initial Review when I received my I-485 RFE last few months ago. Though I used AC21 to change my old employer to new employer I-140 still shows initial review.

People,
I am proud of my 4 year old girl. She has written a letter to the President. When a 4 year old can write , we have 25k adult members and only about 500 of them have sent letters! Why ?

I understand, you are reading this post, but don't have a printer at home to print ? Ok, now open hotmail , gmail or yahoo mail, compose a mail to your work address. Just add this word document, and send a email to your work email address with the word document attached. when you see this email at work, just print 2 copies of the attachment, thats all you have to do.

Sundar - I understand ur question..I ve seen in many forums that employers can revoke ur I-140 before ur I-485 is approved. When you transfer with ur approved I-140 from ur previous employer and lets say that he has already revoked it..I am not sure what will happen the..just wanted to confirm...
the more important part of my question is...
"using approved 140 from an EX-employer" and using that to a get 3 yr extension when doing a h1b transfer to a new employer (who has not in anyway started a new perm labor)

I got my receipt numbers for I 485,I131 and I 765.
i got them by calling USCIS yesterday.
Mailed on:June 28th
Received date:June 29th at NSC
Notice date:July 23rd.

Has anybody recently applied for a Schengen Visa, if yes, can you please let me know what you did for the travel insurance. The insurance from my employer (Humana) says they cover international but do not have a letter that states the same and Swedish consulate website says the letter should specifically say "International Coverage".
What are my options. Can you guys suggest where I can buy the insurance from.

Let say, I continue taking classes until i get for visa stamping, how would they know that I am taking classes other than the grades that were posted or transcript.
